4 WAYS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT CAN ADD VALUE FOR THEIR CLIENT

When joining a new team, you want to make sure you add value to what your client’s business is already doing. Of course, you want to complete the tasks and projects they delegate to you. But there is so much more you can and should be doing! Adding value improves client retention, your working relationship and boosts morale.

We are sharing four ways we see our virtual assistants add substantial value for their clients. If you prioritize and implement the following pieces while you're working in your new role, we know you'll be a game-changer for them!!

1. BRing your heart

As a Rock Solid VA, we know you have an incredible heart for doing what you do. Share this with your client! What sets us apart as a company is that we don't just check tasks off a list, but we also act as a teammate and sounding board who brings heart, value, and energy to our clients. Don't be afraid to shine and bring your passion to the table. It will be appreciated!

2. Be Proactive & Collaborate

As a VA, you bring a unique and fresh perspective to your client's business that they need and want. It's easy to think your client has it all together, but the truth is, if they had it all together they wouldn't need us. You have so much value to add by sharing your insights and experience. As you work with them, look ahead, collaborate & offer solutions.

3. GIVE Daily Rundowns

We can't emphasize enough how essential daily rundowns are for successful communication. Good communication is such a no-brainer that we oftentimes aren't as intentional with as we should be. It’s as easy as jumping on Voxer or Slack at the start of each workday and saying "Hi! Today I'm going to work on 'X, Y & Z'. If there is anything else you want me to handle please let me know". You can also ask questions and remind them of anything you need from them. Then at the end of the day, jump back on and give a quick overview of where your tasks are at and what the rest of your week looks like. Imagine what communication would look like in a physical office, and replicate that in a virtual space.

4. PROVIDE TIME TRACKING

Most clients will highly value and appreciate some form of time tracking from you! Track your time as you're working and send your client a report at the end of each week with your hours. It only takes a few minutes to do and the pay-off is huge. This builds trust and transparency between you and your client, which is vital to have. You can easily track your time using Toggl as you work & then export the PDF report at the end of each week and send it over.

We know you'll see success if you implement these as you kick-off, onboard, and beyond. Remember, as a Rock Solid Va, as you're working with your client, if you ever hit a speed bump or need help dreaming up solutions, reach out to our VA community and team on Slack. We love seeing our VAs collaborate with their clients and with each other as well!
